Richard Kinsey

RICHARD KINSEY, bass-baritone, is probably best known for his performance as Inspector Javert in Les Miserables for which he received the Joseph Jefferson Award For Best Supporting Actor. He starred in the Broadway, National and International Touring Companies and performed the role over two thousand times. His performances with Palisades Symphony include Danillo in The Merry Widow, baritone soloist in the Brahms Requiem, and Bartolo in The Barber of Seville.

Other recent theatrical roles include Brocklehurst/Mason in the world premiere of Jane Eyre, Bill Sykes in Oliver, Adam in Seven Brides, Fred/Petruchio in Kiss Me Kate, Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, Phantom in Phantom, Father in Ragtime, Caiphas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Tony and Joey in Most Happy Fella, Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance, and many more.

Mr. Kinsey's first love is performing on the stage, but he can be seen often in supporting film roles. He teaches several classes at Orange County High School of the Arts. He is also a published illustrator and painter, featured in several books and galleries.
