The Palisades Symphony Orchestra is a volunteer community ensemble dedicated to inspiring, educating, and uniting our diverse Los Angeles community through free, high-quality orchestral and choral performances. Founded in 1966 to foster public appreciation of classical music, provide musicians with a vibrant performance venue, and champion living composers, the Symphony continues this legacy by nurturing young talent through its decades-old Young Artists Awards Competition and by making the transformative power of music accessible to all.
The Palisades Symphony is a community orchestra that performs and rehearses in the Pacific Palisades district of Los Angeles. The orchestra is led by Music Director Maxim Kuzin.
The Symphony was founded in 1966 by Joel B. Lish in order “to foster, promote and increase the musical knowledge and appreciation of the public; to provide qualified musicians with a venue to perform; and to afford contemporary composers an opportunity to have their works performed and heard.”
