Kasey Stern is from San Diego and started playing the viola at the age of 8. While growing up, she participated in the San Diego Youth Symphony and Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra, until attending college at the University of Puget Sound where she was a member of the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra. After graduating, Kasey moved to Connecticut and participated with the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra, until finally making her way back to sunny California and found the Palisades Symphony.

Kasey received her undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science, and is currently a software engineer. She is also a certified yoga instructor, and enjoys teaching yoga in her free time.
